Starbucks will open a new outlet in Cork City at 39 Princes Street - just doors from the historic English Market. Until now the global coffee giant's only presence in the county has been a concession in University College Cork and locations in the City Gate business park, and Mahon Point Shopping Centre.

It is believed that Starbucks is looking to open a number of new premises in Cork. Irish Examiner is reporting that the company is denying reports suggesting that it will open an outlet in the One Albert Quay office building which is currently under construction.

Ireland's first Starbucks opened in Dundrum Town Centre in 2005 - its presence in the capital has grown steadily since then.

The Princes St premises is listed by Lisney with a rent of €55,000 per anum. The recently refurbished property has 1,669 sq ft in ground floor space.

High pedestrian traffic and a central location close to the English Market, Patrick Street and Oliver Plunkett Street are some of the qualities highlighted by Lisney when trying to attract businesses to rent the space.

Starbucks has 21,000 outlets in 68 countries - it recently expanded to Colombia and Vietnam.
