It's hard to believe that Twitter has only been around for the last eight years, as it increases its ubiquity and works its way into absolutely every facet of our lives – but it seems that our urge to microblog life's little details long predates the technology.
That's what Lucy Hooper recently discovered when she unearthed this diary from her childhood, in which she delivers hilariously cute snippets of life through the eyes of a nine-year-old – all in less than 140 characters.
In fact, so determined was she to foreshadow the imminent arrival of Twitter that she even described what she had for breakfast. A true visionary indeed.
