A cyclist has been killed in a road traffic accident in Dublin.

The 50-year-old man was struck by a car on the southbound lane of M1 near Swords at around 5 o'clock this evening.

The collision occurred between the Donabate and Swords junctions.

The victim was taken by Ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time ago.

The occupants of the car were uninjured.
