Investigation launched after Ukranian cargo plane crashes in Algeria

An investigation is underway to find out what caused a civilian Ukrainian cargo plane to crash in Algeria.

The crash killed all seven people on board.

The six Ukrainians and one Russian on board the plane were travelling from Scotland to Equatorial Guinea and had just completed a stop over in southern Algeria's Tamanrasset aiport.

The plane is reported to have crashed soon after take off at around 2:40am local time.

The plane was carrying oil equipment.

An Algerian transport ministry official says it is believed a technical fault caused the crash.
