A hornet nest in or outside the house is always cause for concern, but in this case a convenient window-side location offers an impressive look at how the large wasps build their nests.
Reddit user Redararis explains "wasps were kind enough to build this nest in a double-glass window which can not be opened and it is isolated in the attic. No worries for me or the neighbours."
Given their size, it was later pointed out that the insects were likely European hornets as opposed to your garden variety wasp.
A video of the nest gives us a great look at its structure and the hornets at work. Definitely not a nest you would want to mess with unless you had the proper equipment, but Redarais says "winter is coming and the wasps will die by natural causes in 1-2 months" - otherwise he'll use a 'long torch' to get rid of them.
