The famous Greggs bakery chain in the UK had their official logo on Google replaced with an offensive version yesterday afternoon.

Anyone who searched 'Greggs' yesterday would have come across a Google result which displayed this logo.

Although catchy, it's not their official slogan and soon the company was receiving lighthearted tweets from the public alerting them to Google's oversight.

Greggs said on Twitter to users who had spotted the logo: “All publicity is good publicity? That’s what they say isn’t it? *weeps alone in a corner*”.

The image was apparently sourced from uncyclopedia.wikia.com, a parody of Wikipedia, and its appearance was due to a glitch in Google's algorithms.

If you search for Greggs on Google today you'll find the result minus their logo.

But Greggs weren't too upset by all the attention. They managed to swap some funny banter back and forth with the public and Google on Twitter.
