A small garda presence remains at the scene of a stand off which took place in Finglas this morning.

A fresh outbreak of violence at Avila Park off Cappagh Road took place earlier following a street brawl between two gangs last night.

A man (34) was hospitalised with cuts to his head and back while property in the area was also damaged.

It followed a street brawl between two gangs when armed gardaí and the air support unit were deployed.

Crime Reporter with the Irish Daily Mirror Cathal McMahon says gardaí are looking for a motive:

Dublin Fire brigade sent a fire engine and an ambulance to the scene at around 8:45pm last night. No arrests have been made.
