The funeral mass of Dublin's latest gangland shooting victim has taken place as gardaí continue to hunt for those behind his killing.

Andy Connors, a convicted burglar and member of the Traveller community, was shot dead at his home in Saggart 10 days ago.

Just before 11pm on Tuesday August 19th, a man wearing a balaclava entered the house at the Old Pound in Boherboy in Saggart.

His wife and four of his six children were in the house at the time as well as his young niece. Connors (45) was shot several times in the upper body and died in hospital less than an hour later.

A huge crowd of friends and family gathered at the local church in Saggart for his funeral mass.

A number of garda units were dispatched to the area for his removal last night, and they were also present today to ensure it passed off peacefully.

No arrests have yet been made in relation to his murder, but gardaí are following a number of lines of enquiry - including his links with dissidents and gangland crime.

They are also focusing on two cars found on the day of the shooting.

The first is a black Kia Sportage, which was stolen in Kilkenny on July 16th, and the second is a white Opel Insignia that was stolen in Carlow two days beforehand.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí.
