Yesterday wasn't actually the hottest day of the year, but we thought it was, and we couldn't have been happier.

Some forecasts predicted it might get up to 29 degrees in parts of the midlands. In fact, Met Éireann says the highest temperature recorded was 26 degrees at Moorepark, Co Cork.

Tuesday was actually the hottest day of the year so far with 27 degrees in Furnace in Co Mayo.
