Residents in one estate in Co. Cork are continuing their protest over the installation of water meters.
Gardai were called to the Ashbrook Heights estate in Togher yesterday after up to 100 parents and children prevented Irish Water contractors from gaining access to the estate.
They said they are determined to keep up their fight against the meters. It is understood that all work ceased at the site as residents engaged with gardai.
Suzanne O'Flynn is one resident taking part today. She has told Red FM that everyone in the country should be making their feelings known about water meters.
Another local resident, Robbie Cronin, says the entire estate is taking part in the opposition.
